For the beginning jewelry collector I especially recommend "Answers To Questions About Old Jewelry" by Jeanenne Bell and "Starting To Collect Antique Jewelry" by John C. Benjamin, both sell for around $20.00. Two older books that are good additions to the established reference library are "Mexican Jewelry" by Mary Davis and Greta Pack and "Primitive and Folk Jewelry" by Martin Gerlach, various editions can be purchased for less than $15.00.
