Vintage advertising art by John Krivda‚ mixed media with airbrush. The artwork measures 14" by 13" in the frame and the image is 9-3/4" by 7-1/2". The subject is a carpenters wood plane. The work is not signed, but it was purchased directly from his estate.
About the artist: John Krivda lived in Bethany, Connecticut. Mr. Krivda was employed as a commercial artist for several advertising agencies and retired from the art department at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stamford. He was a graduate of the former Whitney School of Art in New Haven, currently known as Paier School of Art. He passed away on 2/14/2009 at the age of 85.
