Antique moonstone brooch in sterling silver setting. This lovely brooch measures 1 1/4" across and has an early c clasp. It is unmarked but has been gently tested and is silver. The center moonstone is slightly more blue in color than the photo would indicate. This brooch is probably English in orgin. During Victorian times, it was customary for the groom to give his bride a wedding gift and this would have been the perfect thing to give in Victorian "Love Language"--that the groom would give her "the moon and the stars.."
