Vintage Costume Jewelry - Fire Hydrant Brooch with Red White and Blue Enamel - Jewels by Stanlee

Unusual fire hydrant brooch or pin with red, white and blue enamel, circa 1970. It measures 1-1/8" wide by 1-3/4" high. The pin is signed on the back "Stanlee". This piece was made for jewelry wholesaler and designer Stanley Zukowski. He called his company "Jewels by Stanlee” and did not start designing until late in his career. You will not find many examples of his work, which is too bad because the quality is outstanding. Luckily I was able to acquire pieces directly from his family.
