This cover was designed by Herbert Bayer and has power lines and electric generating equipment. It is in very good condition with minor soiling but no deep creases in the image, tears, scrapes, water damage, or chipping. The original Fortune magazine covers were printed using the gravure process on heavy paper. It gave the magazine a classy and special look that got subscribers to part with the $1.00 cover price in the middle of the depression. This particular cover would look great framed in any electric company workers office. These covers are truly a work of art, collectible and collected. Herbert Bayer studied at the Staatliche Bauhaus, in Weimar, Germany from 1921 to 1923 and taught at the Bauhaus in Dessau as a Young Master of Typography and Graphic Design from 1925 to 1928. He emigrated to the United States in 1938, working as art director for various companies, including Vogue magazine and Dorland International Design Company.
