Vintage Mexican mask pendant in sterling silver with green stones and malachite. This pendant measures 2-1/4" tall (not including the bale) by 1" wide. It is marked "Mexico 925 Tane" and weighs 14 grams. Condition is excellent and this piece is a very nice example of pre-hispanic design motifs in Mexican jewelry. $7.00 US or Canada ship/insure, and shipping costs for multiple purchases are automatically discounted. According to Hougart's Mexican Hallmark Book "Tane has been a prominent silver house in Mexico City since the early 1950's. Founded by Joseph and Rosa Vilner...Tane makes and sells fine silverwork, including some hand wrought reproductions of some of Mexico's most famous pieces. The name Tane derives from an earlier family business of making bags and purses from "tanned" leather."
