Leonore Doskow sold hand made sterling silver items from 1934 until sometime during the 1980's, when her children took over the business. It is headquartered in Montrose NY and still produces Doskow’s original designs. In 1932 she opened a shop in Philadelphia and one of her first customers was the conductor Leopold Stokowski. He commissioned several items from her including a gold mirror for Greta Garbo, and a copper wastebasket. Her work is well known for its craftsmanship, and is very collectible.

1920's 800 silver pill box with a 6 sided shape. This pill box has a large 18mm by 12mm green chalcedony stone and beautiful hand chased foliate designs. The hand chasing covers the entire box, even the bottom. The gold washed interior has two marks, 800 other numbers in a cartouche, these marks could be Italian in origin. The underside of the catch on the lid in also marked 800. This box is a small work of art and in excellent condition. It closes well, has no dings or dents, and the stone is fine. Antique Unger Bros. Art Nouveau sterling cigarette case with smoking woman, not monogramed. This case measures 3 1/4 X 3 1/4", and weighs 2.67 OZT. It is marked "UB Sterling 925 Fine UB". Condition is very good with minor dings on two front corners, and one on the edge of the back. The case opens and closes fine and so does the bar for holding down the cigarettes.
From the late 1800’s to 1910, the Unger Brothers produced remarkable silver items in the Art Nouveau style. This cigarette case is a testament to their exceptional presence in the world of silver design. It shows an unsurpassed skill in the chasing of Art Nouveau motifs. An identical cigarette case is in the collection of The Newark Museum of Art and was featured in an exhibit entitled "Objects of Desire - 500 Years of Jewelry".

Beautiful & rare antique 7 1/8" page turner or paper knife made of coin silver with engraving. Impressive in its craftsmanship, the handle is engraved with decoration and the blade has the name of the original owner "Sophia Knight Seabury". It also has the date it was given, Dec 25th 1868. The other side of the turner or knife has beautiful engraving with foliate design and an empty cartouche for engraving initials. These were used to turn the pages of old texts and manuscripts, hence saving them from the damaging effects of the skin's oils, etc. This one in nearly pristine condition and a perfect tool (& accent) for the antique book collector!
