Antique pair silverplate sugar tongs is the Assyrian Head flatware pattern made by Rogers, 1886. The tongs measures 5 inches long and are in excellent condition with no wear through of the plating. Marked "WM Rogers & Son AA.", a very nice example of Victorian style.

Antique Gorham Master Candy or Nut Dish - Poppy Pattern Repousse
 
Awesome sterling silver master nut or candy dish by Gorham with poppy pattern. This 7" bowl features beautiful repousse work with large poppy flowers. The center of the bowl is engraved 1883 - 1908, a 25th wedding anniversary gift. This item is in excellent condition with only 2 minor dings on the bottom. The dings are only really noticeable when looking at the piece from the back. The dish is marked with Gorhams maker's mark Sterling A2737, weighs 3.41 tory ounces, and has the date symbol for 1907. A fine example of American silver!

Exceptional Set of 6 Antique Sterling Silver Oyster Forks by Gorham - C1880
 
A set of six Gorham sterling oyster forks circa 1880. Each fork has a different design but all blend sea or marine elements. The design of the forks is similar to the Narragansett or Blue Point patterns in style and attempted naturalism. Approx length of each is 5 1/2". Excellent condition with clear Gorham hallmark. Antique Victorian Silverplate - Large Serving or Casserole Spoon with Shell, Water, and Wave Design - Raphael by Rogers and Hamilton
 
Antique large serving spoon with shell, water and wave design made by Rogers and Hamilton. The name of the pattern is "Raphael". This silver plated spoon has an ornate handle and the back is marked "Pat. 1896 FL Taber". It measures 8-1/2" long, and the large bowl measures 3" across. Condition is excellent with no dents, dings, or wear through to the silver plate. However, worth noting is wear to the gold wash on the back of the spoon, here the gilding is almost totally worn off. The handle of the spoon is monogrammed with the letter "C" in the old English style. This piece would make a wonderful addition to any Silverplate Collection.

Vintage Mexican Sterling Silver Open Salt Cellar or Dish - by Heather y Hijos
 
Vintage sterling silver open salt dish or cellar made by the Mexican firm Heather y Hijos (Heather & Sons). This dish is large and measures 2-3/8" across and it is almost 1-1/4" tall. The bottom is marked "Heather Sterling Mexico" and it weighs 1.51 troy ounces. The trade mark stamp is both a mis-strike and a double-strike, but the "eath" of Heather is clearly visible. According to "The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks" this firm was located in Mexico City and was described as a "fine shop featuring copies of early American and English patterns". Condition is excellent with no dings, dents or other problems. The patina is lovely!

Chinese Export Silver - Set of 5 Napkin Rings with Dragon and Sun Design
 
Set of 5 Chinese export napkin rings with a dragon and flaming sun design in silver. Each of these napkin rings measures 1-3/8" high and the inside diameter is slightly over 1-3/8". The set of 5 weighs 4.86 troy ounces and condition is very good. One problem to note are dings and dents to some of the "suns". Three of the napkin rings have the mark shown in the inset photo, but 2 do not. I have gently tested the metal and found it to be silver. My estimate on the age of the set is early 20th century.

This is a gorgeous sterling silver napkin ring by the Charles Thomae Company. It features a 4 different colors of enamel including a yellow fleur de le accent. This ring measures 1/2" wide and 1 3/4" across. It is in extremely good condition and will make a wonderful addition to a special collection! It has the Thomae sudo english mark of a crown T and lion. The interior is also marked sterling I68, and engraved FGT.

Blackinton Flatware - Art Nouveau Sterling Salad Fork in Lotus Pattern
 
Ornate sterling vegetable or salad fork made by Blackinton in the Art Nouveau style. This pattern is called Lotus and the handle of the fork has a large flower at the top. It also features two cattails which can be seen in the middle of the handle. The fork is 7-7/8" long and has the Blackinton mark, sterling, and Pat. 1901. This fork weighs slightly over 2 troy ounces and this lovely pattern is hard to find.

Here is a magnificent sterling silver sugar sifter in the Wave Edge pattern by Tiffany & Co. It is in very good condition and has just polished by a silversmith! Marked TIFFANY & CO STERLING Pat 1884 M, no monogram, and 7 inches in length. The style of the letter M, as it appears on the back of the handle, indicates that this sifter was produced between the years 1884-1891.

Vintage 1950's Sterling Silver Candy Dish or Fruit Basket with Handle - Elgin Silver Co. - Wedding or Anniversary Present
 
C1950's American sterling silver candy dish or basket on pedestal with hinged handle. The basket has a pierced, cut out design with a simple border. The base is marked "Sterling Cement Filled Reinforced with Rod El-Sil-Co". It was made by Elgin Silversmith Co., New York, New York and only the base is weighted. The bowl and handle are solid sterling silver. This basket/dish is in near mint condition (absolutely no dings, dents, or repairs) and was just polished by a silversmith. It weighs 8.84 troy ounces and stands 7 in. to the top of handle (3 ¼ in. to top of basket). The bowl of the basket measures almost 7" across. Antique Sterling Silver Waffle Server by Gorham for J. E. Caldwell of Philadelphia - Kings II Pattern 1885
 
This flat server was made by Gorham for the famous Philadelphia retailer J.E. Cladwell, Circa 1885. Its handle is in the "King's II" pattern. Its polished-finish blade is engraved with a fancy monogram, "MHA". Condition of the server is excellent and the piece was recently polished by a silversmith. The underside handle is marked "STERLING J.E. Caldwell & Co." The server measures 9 1/4 inches in length, weighs 3.36 troy ounces, and the blade is up to 3 1/8" wide. Interesting antique silverplate napkin ring with applied shield, monogrammed "FPL from WBL". The ring is is 1/4" wide and the diameter measures 1-5/8". It is in very good condition with no wear to the plating but does have one tiny ding at the back of the ring. I can't find any maker's marks or indication of silver content.

Silver Plate Wine Taster Tastevin Cup Porringer - Chateau De Meursault
 
This is a very nice silver plated wine tasting porringer cup / bowl. It is marked on the thumb plate of the handle with the name of a famous French vineyard - CHATEAU De MEURSAULT. The cup is in very good condition with little if any wear. This tastevin measures about 3 3/8" across the bowl and 4 1/2" including the handle and is about 1" deep. It weighs 71.8 grams or 2.54 oz.

Vintage 1940's Silverplate Baby Cup by Wm. A. Rogers Engraved with the Name "Robert"
 
Lovely vintage Rogers silverplated baby cup, C1940. It has a design with a girl and boy riding a pony which is above a banner engraved the name "Robert". This cup stands 2 3/4" high by 2 1/2" wide. It is marked "(garland encircling R - one on each side) 1881 ROGERS". Condition of the cup itself is very good, no dings or dents, or wear to the plating. However, the handle has some minor loss of plating and signs of wear.

Handmade, Ornate Chased 800 Silver Citrus Spoon - Made in Morocco
 
Ornate 800 silver citrus spoon with fancy chasing made in Morocco. The spoon measures 5-3/4" long and weighs 15.5 grams. It was handmade and has spectacular workmanship. It is hallmarked for .800 silver content with a Morrocan post 1925 mark (page 301 "International Hallmarks on Silver collected by Tardy). Condition is excellent.

Victorian Silver Plated Tea Set by Van Bergh - Four Pieces, Quadruple Plate, Patent 1898
 
Antique silver plated tea set manufactured by the Van Bergh Silver Plating Co., Rochester N.Y. The set consists of 4 pieces; teapot, covered sugar bowl, creamer, and waste bowl. All pieces were recently polished by a silversmith and show like new. The set is in amazing, near mint condition with no dings or dents, and has a satin or "butlers finish". The bottom of the pieces are marked "Pat'd May 10, 1898, Van Bergh S P Co. Rochester, NY, Quadruple plate". The patent that was issued to Van Bergh is #D28610, and the abstract states that the pattern is "composed of conventionalized flowers and scrolls in the nature of honey suckle ornamentation". A lovely antique tea set!

Vintage two-piece pastry serving set in 800 silver with Austro-Hungarian hallmarks. The fork and shovel each measures 5-1/4" long and the set weighs 1.41 troy ounces. They have a simple twist handle design and are in extremely good unmonogrammed condition. The pieces are hallmarked with the Dianakopf and A (Vienna) silver fineness of 800 and have same makers mark BE. This type of mark was used on Austro-Hungarian silver from 1867-1922.

Antique serving spoon for berries made of coin silver. This spoon measures 9" long and weighs 1.97 troy ounces. It has a 3" long bowl with scalloped edge and wonderful repousse work with berries and leaves. The spoon has a twist design in the middle of the handle and the top is finished with ornate bright cut engraving. It also has a federal shield with the intiails LPY and the date March 12 1857. This spoon was made by Meadows and Co of Philadelphia Pennsylvania. The back of the handle is marked "Meadows & Co STANDARD". Condition is excellent.

Set of six antique C1910 citrus spoons (sometimes referred to as orange or grapefruit spoons). Each spoon measures almost 6" long and about 1-1/8" wide across the bowl. The were made by the Alvin Silver Co. and are so marked. The set has some light usage marks, and is monogramed with the letter "C". Overall the plating and all else is in excellent condition. The box is not original to this set (Community Plate was made by Oneida) is in only fair condition.

Antique Victorian small soup or bouillon ladle. This silverplate ladle can also called an oyster ladle. The lovely handle is decorated with flowers, acanthus leaves, and beaten accents. The ladle measures 10" long and the bowl is 3-1/2 inches wide. Circa 1874 this NYC firm ceased business. Condition is very good with only one small spot of plate wear on the heal of the bowl about 1/8" long.

Vintage silver plated cake server in the arts and crafts style that was made in Sweden. This server measures 10" long and weighs 4.63 ounces. The only marks are a group of 3 crowns on the back of the handle. Lovely design with a leaf shaped blade and beaded handle. This piece has some age, but I do not know exactly when it was made. Condition is very good with no heavy scratches.

Rare 6 inch souvenir spoon of "Rogers Bros Factory J Clambake". Very nice embossed handle with the names of the factory "Old Timers" engarved (Pretat, Schupbach, Triebel, A. Gross, Zeidler, M. Gross). The bowl was hand engraved with the words "Die Cutters Rogers Bros Factory J Clambake Lake Quassapaug Aug-29-1925". In very good condition with only minor wear on the front edge of the bowl! The back of the handle is marked 1847 Rogers Bros and has more names (Hoyle, Horton, Weyman, Rogers, Smith, White, and Pace) .

Chicago 1933 World's Fair Souvenir Spoon - Electrical Group
 
1933 Chicago Worlds Fair souvenir spoon with Fort Dearborn depicted on end of handle, "A Century of Progress" on the handle, and Electrical Group Chicago 1934 in spoon bowl. The Electrical Group was designed by architect Raymond Hood of New, York. It housed exhibits of electricity, telephone, telegraph and radio. Vintage Silver Plated Souvenir Spoon St Augustine Florida FL - Old City Gate -Made in Holland, GERO Georg Nilsson
 
Very nice vintage souvenir spoon of St Augustine Florida made in Holland. The spoon has an image of the Old City Gate on the top of the handle and is marked "GN GERO 90 Made in Holland". "90" is a quality mark indicating that 90 grams of silver were used to plate 12 spoons and 12 forks. GN is the mark of designer Georg Nilsson. Georg Nilsson worked with Georg Jensen and was the designer working for the Danish Gero factory in Copenhagen until its closure in 1933 due to the world economic situation. He left Denmark and remained working as one of the main designers with the Gero factory in Zeist until his retirement in 1954. The spoon measures 5" long and is in excellent condition with only light wear. I'm not quite sure of when this spoon was made but I believe it was manufactured before WWII.
