Set of 5 Chinese export napkin rings with a dragon and flaming pearl design in silver. Dragons are deeply rooted in Chinese culture and many images of Oriental dragons contain a pearl. The pearl is said to possess the dragon's immense wisdom and is also known as the "Pearl of Knowledge". In addition, the pearl is associated with wealth, good luck, and prosperity. Each of these napkin rings measures 1-3/8" high and the inside diameter is slightly over 1-3/8". The set of 5 weighs 4.86 troy ounces and condition is very good. One problem to note are dings and dents to the "pearls". Three of the napkin rings have the makers mark shown in the inset photo, but 2 do not.
